Recreation Coordinator (Full-Time; Exempt) 10/14/11

Under supervision of Administrator, coordinates overall operation and management of resident activities in accordance with state and federal regulations and established policies and procedures, to ensure a comprehensive on-going program of activities designed to meet interests as well as physical, mental and psychosocial well-being of residents.  Responsible for supervision of Activity Assistants and facility volunteer program.

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    -High school diploma or equivalent required.
    -Certified Occupational Therapist, Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant, eligible for certification as a therapeutic recreational therapist, two (2) years experience in social or recreational program within past five (5) years, one (1) of which was full-time in a patient activity program in a healthcare setting, or Certified Activities Coordinator required.
    -Heartsavers Cardiac Life Support (Course “A”) or CPR certification required.
    -Current physical and tuberculosis clearance.
    -U.S. citizen, lawful permanent alien resident or alien authorized to work for specified time by U.S. Department of Justice.
  • DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    -Prior employment experience in pediatric, long-term care, and/or equivalent setting preferred. 
    -Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience preferred.
    -Familiar with MDS/RAI preferred.
    -Computer skills preferred.
